Melanie’s latest piece, “Strolling”, is featured in the latest issue of Pianist Magazine, and here are a few ideas for how to explore this charming elementary piece in a creative way. Here’s a score video:
A creative introduction to Strolling…
You can use the simple scale duet below to connect the piece to its scale (G major) and time signature (3/4), practise sight-reading, review dynamics and articulation, and get them started with melodic improvisation.

Wait, there’s more!
If your student really gets into “Strolling”, they might enjoy playing this duet! This more closely resembles the original piece than the scale duet given above, but it has been transformed in several ways.
This would make a nice activity for a couple of students, one at roughly UK Prep Test level (Student 1) and one at roughly UK Grade 1 (Student 2).
